Mahatma Gandhi Central University celebrates 74th Republic Day at Gandhi Bhawan, Bankat. Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Anand Prakash unfurl the National Flag. The program started with a speech by the Vice-Chancellor where he first paid his tribute to the brave martyrs of the mother land and then he encouraged the youth to serve the nation keeping aside one’s ego, ethos and requirements, so as to make India a developed nation. In addition he spoke how to attain the rich heritage of India. Furthermore he conveyed the significance of Republic Day and the Constitution of India. Lastly he spoke about the Purna Swaraj and the declaration of Independence of India by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
Subsequently, a cultural programme commenced which was hosted by Dr. Rashmi Srivastav. It started with a Saraswati Vandana which was followed by series of Patriotic Songs and Dances by the students of Central University with enthusiasm. Suprabha De’s Saraswati Vandana enthralled everyone, Aditya Kumar and Priyam Dev, students of the Department of Commerce, mesmerized everyone by singing songs like “Sandesh Aate Hai” and “Rang De Basanti Chola”. Sanjana and Sumedha, students of the Department of English enthralled everyone with classical dance. The campus reverberated with patriotic songs.
Vote of thanks was done by Prasoon Dutt Singh, Director of Gandhi Bhavan Parisar. On this occasion, he expressed his gratitude to all the teachers, officers, researchers, and students of the university family.
In the programme, oath was administered to all the faculty members, teachers and students of the university to make the drug de-addiction campaign a success.
