Mahatma Gandhi Central University’s Media Studies Department recently hosted a noteworthy event focused on raising awareness about cybercrime prevention. Chancellor Prof. Sanjay Shrivastav presided over the program, which featured Police Superintendent Kantesh Mishra as the main speaker. Dr. Anjani Kumar Jha, Head of the Media Studies Department, chaired the event, with coordination led by Dr. Paramatma Kumar Mishra and gratitude expressed by program coordinator Dr. Sunil Deepak Ghodke.

In his keynote address, Police Superintendent Kantesh Mishra shared insights into the repercussions of cybercrime, emphasizing that awareness is key to its prevention. Mishra underscored the need for a cautious approach to internet usage by understanding all dimensions of cybercrime. Discussing practical aspects, he elaborated on various forms of cybercrime, including bank fraud, ATM cloning, and the importance of refraining from sharing sensitive content on matrimonial sites. Mishra proposed staying one step ahead of cybercriminals and urged the audience to maintain distance from unknown individuals on social media.

Vagisha Shrivastav, a third-semester BJMC student introduced the keynote speaker. During the program, Aryan Singh, Vivek Gupta, and Anupam Ganguli asked several questions to the main speaker. Students from BJMC, MJMC, and B.Com were present at the event.
