Prof. Datta appointed as Chief Proctor at MGCU

In a significant development, Prof. Prasoon Datt Singh has been appointed as the Chief Proctor at Mahatma Gandhi Central University, reinforcing the commitment to disciplined academic governance.

Reconstitution of Proctorial Board with Nine Key Positions

Prof. Prasoon Datt Singh, the former Head of the Department of Sanskrit and Director of Gandhi Bhawan, has been appointed as the Chief Proctor in the reconstituted Proctorial Board. The board includes positions such as Chief Proctor, Deputy Proctor, and Assistant Proctor, with a total of nine members.

Rich Academic and Administrative Experience

Prof. Singh, previously the Head of the Sanskrit Department, has successfully served as the coordinator for Bharat Vidya Kendra and National Service Scheme at the university. With a deep understanding of academic and administrative dynamics, he holds the responsibility of chairing various committees and actively contributes to cultural, literary, and policy-related initiatives within the university.

Extensive Research Contributions and Academic Achievements

A prolific author and editor, Prof. Prasoon Datt Singh has published over 13 books and more than 60 research papers in national and international journals. He has guided three Ph.D. and two M.Phil. scholars under his research direction. Recognized for his outstanding contributions, he is also the editor of the UGC-listed research journal ‘Drishtikon.’

Vision for Disciplined Academic Environment

Expressing his delight, the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sanjay Shrivastav, emphasized the importance of Prof. Singh’s academic prowess and disciplined experience in contributing to the university’s growth. He believes that under Prof. Singh’s leadership, the Proctorial Board will excel in achieving academic excellence.

Prof. Datta Commitment to Discipline and Harmony

Prof. Singh, speaking about his role as Chief Proctor, highlighted his commitment to enhancing the university’s reputation through disciplined governance and fostering a healthy camaraderie among students and researchers. He assured that the Proctorial Board is steadfast in upholding discipline without compromise.

Reconstituted Proctorial Board Welcomed by University Community

The newly appointed Chief Proctor, Deputy Proctors, and Assistant Proctors received congratulations and best wishes from the university’s faculty, officers, scholars, students, and staff. The reconstituted Proctorial Board is poised to contribute significantly to maintaining a disciplined and conducive academic environment.
