Motihari | Since from preceeding some days, Internal Complaint Committee of Mahatma Gandhi Central University is observing “Elimination of Discrimination against women Pakhwada”. In this series of women pakhwada Dr. Kumar Ashish, IPS, East Champaran was the keynote speaker on December 09, 2022. The theme of this concerned Pakhwada was “Prevention of sexual harassment at work place”. While having the addression, Dr. Ashish encouraged the work of ICC, MGCU and said that having no complain doesn’t means ‘Ram Rajya’, as women are often scared when it comes to registering such complaints. He also said that it is necessary that discrimination should never be tolerated at the workplace and the rights of the employees should never be violated either by the employer or any other co-worker.

While addressing the women pakwada, Vice Chancellor Professor Anand Prakash, MGCU said that one of the important responsibilities of the University is to raise awareness not only among its students, faculty members and staff but also among the public outside its institution. The university should also do the work of awakening the society. He congratulated the ICC for continuously organizing events that ensure gender equality.

ICC Convener Prof. Shahana Mazumdar welcomed the guests and said that a healthy campus environment is the core value that guides the action of this committee. On the other hand Dr. Sapna Sugandha, Member, ICC MGCU, thanked all the honored guests, administrative staff and students. Dean of Student Welfare Prof. Kalatarna Pal, Proctor Prof. Pranveer Singh, Dr. Preeti Bajpai, Member, ICC, and PRO Shefalika Mishra were present.
