The two-days workshop were organized by the School of Education, Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Bihar. Massive Open Online Course (MUX) and Study Babes of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) were the main topics of this workshop. The workshop will also run in online mode for 30 days.
The workshop commenced with lamp litting by the guests. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof. By Sanjay Srivastava.

The availability of digital platforms have made the education system more easier – Vice Chancellor

In the presidential address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjay Srivastava said that the trend of teachers and students have increased towards study-teaching in blended mode in higher education. As a result of technological development, the availability of digital platforms have made it easier to conduct teaching activity. In NEP 2020 also, emphasis has been laid on blended mode regarding study-teaching. Pro. Srivastava emphasized on imparting education in blended mode in higher education through MOOC-SWAYAM (silent-self) in the light of NAP. He highlighted the changing scenario of higher education in the digital world. Also underlined the importance of interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary approach, internalization of MOOCs-SWAYAM courses, platforms in the University. He said that according to the need of the students in higher education, courses of ‘MOOC-SWAYAM’ nature would be started in the university.

AI is creating an engaging, stimulating, and challenging environment for learners in the 21st century – K Srinivas

Special guest Prof. K. Srinivas, Head, ICT & Project Management Unit, NIEPA elaborated on MOOC-SWAYAM. In his interesting lecture, Prof. Srinivas elaborated on the latest pedagogical approaches, artificial intelligence, and how it relates to creating an engaging, stimulating, and challenging environment for learners in the 21st century. Pro. K. Srinivas demonstrated his website with the Learning Management System. He spoke on e-PG Pathshala, OER, various digital initiatives, PPP, 21st century skills and ARPIT. Further He discussed the steps to develop the curriculum themselves. He spoke on 4 quadrants including e-Tutorials, e-Content, Assessment & Quiz and Discussion. He highlighted various digital initiatives of Government of India including E-PG Pathshala, Digital Library, UGC-MOOC, Shodh Ganga, IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorial, E-Yantra, Sakshat, Virtual Labs, NEAT, Samarth, Shodh Shuddhi, Scholar. Apart from this, he also interestingly explained the step-by-step demonstration of Edupuzzle to create an interactive content with the help of existing OER videos to assign to the students.

On this occasion, Professor Prasun Dutt Singh, Director, Gandhi Campus, Professor Arttran Pal, Director, Chanakya Parisar, Professor Shirish Mishra, Director, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Parisar, Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Head, Department of Educational Studies, Program Coordinator Dr. Manisha Rani, Dr. Shyam Nandan, Dr. Sunil Kumar Singh, Dr. Pathloth Onkar played an important role. More than 50 faculty members and research scholars of the university participated in this workshop.
