On the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda in Mahatma Gandhi Central University, a seminar and speech competition on Swami Vivekananda: Youth and India was organized by the Department of Media Studies.
The program formally started with the lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana. The guests who came to the program were welcomed with saplings.
While delivering the welcome address and introducing the theme, the program director Dr. Saket Raman inspired the students to follow the character of Swami Vivekananda. Speaking at Chicago’s Parliament of Religions, Dr. Raman said that Vivekananda, representing India and Hinduism, bowed to Saraswati, the goddess of learning, and “Sisters and brothers of America!” started his speech with At these words, Vivekananda received a two-minute standing ovation from a crowd of seven thousand. He said that in making India a Vishwaguru, the youth will have to instill within themselves the ability to represent with a patriotic ideology.

The Chief Guest, East Champaran Superintendent of Police Mr. Kantesh Mishra was present in the programme. Mr. Kantesh Mishra welcomed everyone in the program and guided the students of MGCU. In his speech, Mr. Mishra taught the students to be physically and mentally strong by following the footsteps of Vivekananda. He said that at present the youth are getting confused due to the misuse of social media, in such a situation, students should use maximum time for their mental and physical development.
The program was presided over by Dr. Anjani Kumar Jha, Head of the Department of Media Studies, Dr. Parmatma Kumar Mishra, Professor of the Department of Media Studies, Dr. Sunil Deepak Ghodke as the organizing secretary.
While giving a motivational address in the program, Dr. Parmatma Kumar Mishra, Professor of the Department, while welcoming the guests, kept the contributions of Vivekananda in front of everyone.
Documentary films focusing on Swami Vivekananda were also screened during the programme.
Among the winning students in the competition program, Aryan along with Prachi stood third, Apoorva stood second and Shreya stood first. The winners were also honored with certificates in the programme.

Students always keep your pride high: Dr. Bimlesh

Dr. Jugul Kishore Dadhich, Head of Gandhi and Peace Studies Department and Dr. Bimlesh Kumar Singh, Head of English Department were present in the jury members of the programme.
Dr. Bimlesh started the program with a song based on the life of Vivekananda. In his address, Dr. Bimlesh talked about keeping his self-esteem high, and also boosted the morale of the students associated with the programme. On the other hand, Dr. Jugul Kishore Dadhich expressed his gratitude towards the department and guided the students by thanking everyone.

The 1st session of the program was conducted by Vikash Upadhyay & Rashmi pandey. 2nd session of the program was conducted by Ravishankar Kumar, Shruti Jaiswal, Ankit Mishra & Aashta while 3rd and last session of the program was condcted by Chaitanya Kumar and Ankita Kumari. Vote of Thanks were given by Tanya Singh. The program was coordinated by Ashish Kumar and Tanya Singh, students of BJMC fifth semester. BJMC 5th semester students played an important role as the organizers of the event. Research scholars and students of the department were present in the programme.
