Professor Srivastava Presents Insights on Indian Citizen Security Act 2023 at Seminar

Motihari: The Department of Media Studies at Mahatma Gandhi Central University organized an online seminar on the Indian Citizen Security Act 2023.

The program was under the patronage of the esteemed Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Sanjay Srivastava. Overseeing the proceedings was Professor Anjani Kumar Jha, Head of the Department of Media Studies.

The keynote address was delivered by Professor Yogendra Kumar Srivastava, the founder and examiner of the National Law University of Justice.

In the welcome speech, Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator Dr. Saket Raman emphasized the importance of understanding the upcoming changes in the law from July 2024 regarding the Indian Citizen Security Act 2023, enabling future journalists to be vigilant about their rights.

He also discussed the benefits of the Indian Justice Act and shed light on the entry topic.

Professor Yogendra Kumar Srivastava, the main guest of the program, described the new parliament as the harbinger of our true independence.

He elaborated on the Indian Citizen Security Act, Indian Penal Code, and Indian Evidence Act, explaining the shortcomings of the CRPC.

He also highlighted the significance of forensic investigation, presentation through electronic communication devices, and electronic evidence. Mobile phones play a significant role as environmental evidence.

Professor Srivastava also briefly outlined the Income Tax Act, property acquired through corruption, and the Data Protection Act, stating that forensic science will provide journalism students with a new perspective on crime beat news.

During the presidential address, Department Head Dr. Anjani Kumar Jha stated that the Indian Citizen Security Act 2023 would play a crucial role in eliminating the effects of slavery from the Constitution.

He emphasized the need for journalism students to be aware of security legislation and discussed cybercrime and constitutional rights.

The organizing committee included Dr. Paramatma Kumar Mishra, Dr. Sunil Deepak Ghodake, and Dr. Uma Yadav.

The event was managed by Prachi Srivastava, with guest introduction by Ashish Kumar, and a vote of thanks by Muskan Singh.

Active roles were played by Prateek Kumar, Akash Singh Rathore, Aryan Singh, Ruchi Bharati, Anjali Chaudhary, and Ravishankar Mishra during the program.

Various students, researchers, and academic and non-academic officials from different departments of the university attended the program.
