On the ninth day of the 10-day Research Methodology course organized by the Department of Political Science, Mahatma Gandhi Central University in collaboration with the Indian Council of Social Science Research, the participants were taken on an educational excursion. After flag hoisting, all the participants were taken to Vaishali district of Bihar to give practical knowledge of field survey.
After visiting important mythological Buddhist and Jain pilgrimage sites, the participants were asked for a field survey.

Participants were divided into six groups

All the participants were divided into six groups in which Swami Vivekananda, Swami Dayanand, Kautilya, Ahilyabai Holkar, Maitreya and Gargi group participants collected the facts through field survey. Vinay, Savita, Sameer, Rahul, Vineet and Nitesh were the leaders of these groups respectively. Participants from all groups scheduled the views of fifty respondents through self-made questionnaires.

Practical testing of theoretical knowledge is very important

In the afternoon a discussion session was organized on the basis of the facts gathered. The session was presided over by Prof. Sunil Mahawar, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi Central University. Prof. Mahawar said that such practical activities are complementary in giving the researchers real knowledge about research. Practical testing of theoretical knowledge is very important. Talking to the participants in the discussion session, Dr. Narendra Kumar Arya, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science, MGCUB, the subject matter expert of this session, gave important instructions to the participants regarding the collection of facts through the questionnaire. Dr. Arya inquired about the experience gained from the participants on the basis of the collected facts.

The practical knowledge of the participants about the research increased through the same field survey

Coordinator of the session, Dr. Narendra Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, MGCUB, said that through such educational cruises, researchers get experiential knowledge. The participants got to know about the mythological heritage of Bihar by visiting Buddhist and Jain mythological places. The practical knowledge of the participants about the research increased through the same field survey. Abhilasha, Jyoti, Deepak, Puja, Govind, and others were present in the participants. Ashutosh, Gaurav, Nikhil, Manish, Sarveshwar, Ujjwal, Devashis, Sandeep, Richa, Vijay, Kaushal, Sujit, Sachin, Afsana were present in the program.
