Mahatma Gandhi Central University’s Sanskrit Department Hosts Special Lecture in which President Professor Sanjay Shrivastava and Head of Humanities and Language Department, Professor Prasoon Datt Singh, coordinated a unique lecture on the subject – “The Contemporary Significance of Sanskrit.”
Mr. Hulās Chand, the National Correspondent for Sanskrit Bharati, was the distinguished speaker for the occasion. Mr. Chand emphasized that the applicability of scientific concepts and solutions to life’s various problems can be effectively communicated through the Sanskrit language. He elaborated on this perspective, presenting his comprehensive views to the students.

During the event, Dr. Shyam Kumar Jha, Head of the Sanskrit Department, extended a warm welcome to the guests, highlighting that Sanskrit is not just a language but a carrier of Indian culture. The program was attended by various students from the Sanskrit Bharati organization, Shravan Kumar, the Minister of Sanskrit Bharati, Vimalesh Kumar Singh, Head of the English Department, and Anjani Kumar Srivastava, Head of the Hindi Department. The program was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Vishwesh, Assistant Professor in the Sanskrit Department, with an invocation by Sukhan Ghosh.
Towards the end of the program, Mr. Hulās Chand engaged in a discussion, addressing questions from both students and teachers regarding the understandability of the Sanskrit language in the current academic session. Dr. Vishwajeet Barman, Assistant Professor in the Sanskrit Department, expressed gratitude to all the attendees. The program concluded with a closing prayer for peace.
