A speech competition was organized by the Department of Media Studies, Mahatma Gandhi Central University on the topic Community Radio – Voice of Voiceless. This program coordinated by the students of BAJMC third semester.

Keeping the outline of the program, Program Director Dr. Saket Raman, Assistant Proctor congratulated everyone in his welcome address. Dr. Raman said that today the deprived, backward, tribals of the society are not discussed in the mainstream media. Very few if any. In such a situation, community radio has truly emerged as a loud voice for the voiceless. This medium is democratic in its character and is capable of playing a meaningful role in giving direction to the society.

Head of Department Dr. Anjani Kumar Jha emphasized the need of community radio in the society. Encouraging the students, he praised the meaningful initiative in this direction and said that the department is going to make efforts as per rules to start community radio soon. In the program, Assistant Professor Dr. Parmatma Kumar Mishra and Dr. Sunil Ghodke also enlightened the students.
Dean of CSICT Prof. Vikas Pareek explained the possibilities of the future. He told the basic mantra of success in the field of media to the participants. The program was coordinated by the student coordinators of BAJMC third semester, Veronika Rai and Akash Kumar. Akash Asthana, Kumar Ashish and Ruchi Kumari were the jury members of the program. Anupam Ganguly got the extraordinary award, 1st award goes to Shruti Niraj, BAJMC 3rd Sem, 2nd and 3rd Award goes to Prakash Yashashyavni and Rishi Raj respectively. Ashish Kumar, Lucky and Ravi Kashyap were the members of organizing committee.
