Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) has released the list of Doctoral Fellowship 2022-23. A total of 14 researchers have been selected this time for media research across the country. In which, Amit Kumar Mishra has been selected from Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University. 461 research scholars have been selected from the total universities of India, it includes researchers of all social sciences.
Amit is a resident of Chhatripur Shivpur, locality of Banaras
Amit Kumar Mishra is the only PhD scholar of Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University who has been selected for Doctoral Fellowship by ICSSR this time. He is a research scholar of the 2019-20 batch and doing his research under the supervision of Dr. Sunil Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Media Studies. He got this fellowship for the research on the social reality of photo journalism of Padma Shri Raghurai. Originally he is a resident of Chhatripur Shivpur, locality of Banaras, Amit is the youngest son of Dr. Dharmendra Kumar and Chandrakala Devi. Expressing happiness over the selection in ICSSR Doctoral Fellowship.
Head of Department Dr. Manoj Mishra said that this is the achievement of the department. The topic of Amit Mishra holds great significance in today’s context. The photographs of great photojournalist Padmashree Raghurai are seen as the biggest witnesses of the Emergency, Bhopal gas leak incident. In today’s context, photographs are being seen as the biggest vehicle of revolution in the world.
