A debate discussion was organized on the occasion of National Press Day at Department of Media Studies, Mahatma Gandhi Central University. The program was chaired by Dr. Anjani Kumar Jha, Head of the Department. Dr. Saket Raman, Dr. Parmatma Kumar Mishra and Dr. Sunil Deepak Ghodke of Media Studies Department were the organizing committee of the program.
In the addression, the head of the department, Dr. Anjani Kumar Jha, said that the responsibility of the media is to strengthen the nation by creating harmony in the society. Along with this, instead of misleading the society, it is also the 1st priority of the media to raise the issues of public interest. He said that all media students should contribute in nation building by working in a positive direction.
Emphasizes the values of current media – Dr. S Raman
On this occasion, Dr. Saket Raman, assistant professor of the department, emphasized on the values of the current media. Emphasizing the need for nationalistic journalism, he also explained the need for journalistic ethics to the students.

Assistant Professor Dr. Sunil Deepak Ghodke wishes a better future for media students said that media is the fourth pillar of democracy and the responsibility of the country.
Students should follow the standards of the media – Dr. PK Mishra
Dr. Parmatma Kumar Mishra guided the students by outlining the basic elements of journalism and explained the quality of journalism. Students should understand their responsibility and follow the standards of the media.
Researchers and Students put their views
In the discussion, the researchers and students of the department put light on the importance of National Press Day through their statements. Ankita, Vikash, Vivekananda, Ashish, Anupam, Anjali, Aman, Rajeev, Ananya, Aryan, Pooja, Pallavi, Amartya, Shruti Rajhans, Roshan, Smriti, and others from BJMC and MJMC gave their statements in the discussion. Along with this, researchers Naveen Tiwari, Manish, Rajneesh Tripathi, Abhijeet Singh, Souvik Acharya and Sunil Kumar put their statements.
