Four technical and one presentation session were organized on the ninth day of the ten-day Research Methodology course organized by the Department of Political Science, Mahatma Gandhi Central University in collaboration with Indian Institute of Social Science Research.

In the 30th consecutive technical session, subject expert Prof. Shefali Roy, Department of Political Science, Patna University discuss about quality research paper writing. Prof. Rai said that the more subtle the topic of the research papers, the higher its quality. Books are the most reliable source for writing a research paper. Ethics and rationality can be provided to research papers through citation and referencing.
In the presidential address of the session, Prof. Ajay Kumar Gupta, Head of the Department of Physics, MGCUB, said that research paper writing is useful for the research scholars as well as in their academic work throughout their life.

The questions in the questionnaire should be systematic and focused on the research problem

In the thirty-first technical session, Dr. Roy spoke to the participants on the use of questionnaire tools in data collection during research. She explained the important nuances of constructing a questionnaire for data collection to the participants through question exercises. She said that the questions in the questionnaire should be systematic and focused on the research problem. Dr. Roy explained in detail the different types of questionnaires and their practical use.

Plagiarism in the research report is a moral crime – Professor Verma

In the 32nd technical session, Prof. Saroj Verma, Department of Political Science, Jaiprakash University, Chhapra spoke to the participants on the topic of prevention of plagiarism in report writing. Prof. Verma said that plagiarism in the research report is a moral crime. This violates intellectual property rights. Researchers should use proper citation in the report to avoid plagiarism.

The ethics of the research report is ensured by paraphrasing and citation

In the presidential address of the session, Dr. Shyam Kumar Jha, Head, Department of Sanskrit, Mahatma Gandhi Central University, told that the ethics of the research report is ensured by paraphrasing and citation. Due to this the possibility of plagiarism becomes negligible.

Dr. Narendra Singh, co-director of this Research Methodology course, said that the objective of the course is to make the participants aware of the practical problems faced in research and their solutions. The conduct of today’s working day and the report of the previous working day were presented by the participants. Ashutosh, Gaurav, Nikhil, Manish, Sarveshwar, Ujjwal, Devashish, Sandeep, Richa, Vijay, Kaushal, Sujit, Sachin, Afsana were present in today’s program.
